A Celebration Rooted in Tradition & Modern Elegance

With meticulous attention to detail and deep cultural respect, Pink Wasabi Events had the honor of planning and producing Malik & Layaly’s Palestinian Tulba celebration—an unforgettable evening rooted in tradition, family, and modern elegance.

Honoring Palestinian & Muslim Customs with Intention

Hosted in a private Fort Lauderdale backyard, this celebration was designed to honor Palestinian and Muslim customs while reflecting the refined, contemporary taste of the future bride and her family. From the earliest planning conversations, it was clear that this event was about more than beautiful décor—it was about creating an experience that felt authentic, intentional, and deeply personal.

Seamless Event Production, Rain or Shine

Despite rain falling for nearly the entire evening, guests never felt the weather’s impact. We tented the entire property, installed turf subflooring to create a level and comfortable foundation for dining, desserts, the espresso cart, and key gathering areas, and fully covered the pool—transforming it into a custom dance floor that became the energetic heart of the celebration.

Turning Logistics into Effortless Guest Experience

What could have been a logistical challenge became a seamless, immersive experience—proof that thoughtful event production allows guests to stay present in the moment.

Music, Movement & Cultural Expression

The night was filled with rich cultural expression and joyful movement. A DJ played traditional Palestinian and Middle Eastern music, keeping the dance floor alive well into the evening and allowing guests to celebrate through music and movement that felt familiar, meaningful, and celebratory. The atmosphere was electric—rooted in tradition yet full of modern joy.

Hospitality That Reflects Culture & Generosity

Hospitality played a central role in the design. Guests enjoyed Middle Eastern catering, complemented by a Spanish fire grill station serving paella, a bicycle espresso cart, desserts, and fruit-infused water stations throughout the space. Each element was intentionally selected to support both cultural tradition and guest comfort, reflecting the warmth and generosity that define Palestinian celebrations.

An Organic, Bohemian Design Aesthetic

Visually, the tent was transformed into a romantic, bohemian-inspired environment—softly layered, inviting, and elegant without feeling overproduced. Delicate pink floral centerpieces added warmth and charm, while the overall design struck a balance between celebration and sophistication.

Designing Culturally Specific Celebrations with Care

What made this Tulba especially meaningful for our team was the trust and connection built throughout the process. At Pink Wasabi Events, we have a deep commitment to planning and designing culturally specific celebrations with care and integrity. We take the time to educate ourselves on traditions, customs, and symbolism—ensuring that each event honors culture in a way that feels genuine, not performative.

This celebration was no exception. Working with Malik and Layaly’s family was an incredible experience that created a lifelong bond—one rooted in mutual respect, collaboration, and shared joy.

A Thoughtfully Designed Engagement Party Honoring Family, Culture & Connection in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Some celebrations are more than milestones—they are bridges between cultures, families, and places. Ivana & Daniel’s engagement party, hosted oceanside in the private enclave of Sea Ranch Lakes in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was exactly that.

Pink Wasabi Events was honored to provide full design and production for this meaningful engagement celebration, hosted by Ivana’s mother for their American friends and family—many of whom would not be able to travel abroad for the couple’s upcoming wedding in Israel.

A Celebration Rooted in Culture & Intention

Ivana, an American Jew, and Daniel were preparing for a traditional wedding in Israel, where Daniel’s family resides. While their formal ceremony would take place overseas, it was deeply important to Ivana’s family that the couple be celebrated here at home—surrounded by loved ones, community, and shared joy.

This engagement party became a heartfelt opportunity to honor the couple’s journey, blending cultural reverence with a relaxed, coastal South Florida atmosphere.

This celebration was designed to be inclusive, meaningful, and deeply personal—an expression of love across borders.

Organic Design Inspired by the Ocean

Set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, the design direction leaned into an organic, natural aesthetic that felt grounded, effortless, and elevated. We intentionally avoided anything overly structured or formal, allowing the environment to guide the visual story.

Natural textures, soft neutral tones, and thoughtfully layered details created a setting that felt welcoming and authentic—perfect for an engagement celebration centered on connection rather than spectacle.

Every element was curated to feel harmonious with the oceanside setting, ensuring that the design enhanced, rather than competed with, the natural beauty of Sea Ranch Lakes.

Vegan Catering with Purpose

The evening featured vegan catering, thoughtfully selected to align with the couple’s values and create an inclusive dining experience for guests. The menu was intentionally fresh, flavorful, and approachable—proof that plant-based cuisine can be both celebratory and satisfying.

Food is such a powerful connector, and this menu played a meaningful role in bringing guests together throughout the evening.

Music, Movement & an Unforgettable Dance Floor

As the sun set and the celebration transitioned into evening, the energy shifted beautifully. Tropics Entertainment’s band delivered an incredible live performance that kept the dance floor full from start to finish.

There’s a certain magic that happens when great music meets a joyful crowd—and this night had it in abundance. Guests of all ages danced, laughed, and celebrated Ivana and Daniel late into the evening, creating memories that will last far beyond the engagement.

The dance floor was never empty—just the way a celebration of love should be.

From concept development to execution, Pink Wasabi Events led the full design and production of Ivana & Daniel’s engagement celebration. Our role was to translate intention into experience—ensuring that every detail felt aligned with the couple’s story and the purpose of the gathering.

We believe that engagement parties are not “smaller weddings,” but rather their own meaningful moments. This event was designed with the same care, creativity, and respect we bring to every wedding, social, and cultural celebration.
